View file system details
Network-attached storage is a file-level storage architecture that makes stored data more accessible to networked devices.
About this task
A file system is created for NFS exports.

Steps
- Select a storage system that supports PowerMaxFile.
- Select Storage > File.

Select the
FILE SYSTEMS tab, select a file system, and click
.
The following properties display:
- Description—File system description
- Protocols—Protocols that the file system use
- NAS Server—Identity of the NAS Server on which the file system is mounted.
- NFS Exports—Number of NFS exports
- SMB Shares—Number of SMB shares
- Global Namespaces—Number of global namespaces
- File Level Retention—Indicator of file level retention (FLR) status
- FLR has protected files—Indicator of whether FLR has protected files.
- Snapshots—Number of snapshots
- Snapshot Policy—Number of snapshot policies
- Service Level—Service level value
- Data Reduction—Indicator of data reduction status
- Alerts—Indicator of alert status
Clicking VIEW ALL DETAILS results in the display of all file system details. The following properties display:
- Health—Indicator of file system health
- Description—File system description
- Total Capacity (GB)—Total capacity (GB)
- Used Capacity (GB)—Used capacity (GB)
- Protocols—Protocols that the file system uses
- NAS Server—Identity of the NAS Server on which the file system is mounted.
- SMB Shares—Number of SMB shares
- NFS Exports—Number of NFS exports
- Global Namespaces—Number of global namespaces
- File Level Retention—Indicator of file level retention (FLR) status
- FLR has protected files—Indicator of whether FLR has protected files.
- Snapshots—Number of snapshots
- Snapshot Policy—Number of snapshot policies
- Type—File system type (general NAS file system or VMware file system)
- Service Level—Service level value
- Data Reduction—Indicator of data reduction status
You can click Modify to modify the properties (see Modify file systems).
In addition, a visual representation of capacity (allocated capacity as a percentage of overall capacity) is displayed.
